VS. 11-15
"the heart of her husband trusts in her and he will have no lack of gain. she does him good and not evil all the days of her life. she looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight. she is like merchant ships; she brings her food from afar. she rises also while it is still night and gives food to her household and portions to her maidens."
Bible Knowledge Commentary : "His confidence in her is complete. He trusts her. Her careful household management enhances their wealth. He lacks nothing of value by way of household goods."(vs. 11)
How many woman feel that these are feelings that our own husband has toward us. Can we all say that our husband has complete confidence in us? That we are all actively doing things that are helping to better our family financially? I know that as a woman it is hard to sometimes fight the urge to shop! We even sometimes make justifications in our minds such as, "Oh, its a really good deal and I could use it for this, that and the other." I know, I know, I do this too. But, to truly be a noble woman, wouldn't it be better to say, "You know, it is a good deal but, there will be other good deals that will come and I will be in a better financial state to take advantage of it." Positioning ourselves better financially will enable us to be able to take advantage of those "good deals" that come along, instead of trying to stretch ourselves here and there to make it alright in our minds. Managing ourselves and our family to enhance our wealth is an act of a noble woman.
