I have heard people talk about how being a stay-at-home mom, housewife, homemaker etc. can be a meaningless, dull job.
I beg to differ!
I think those that think this way have a misconception of just how truly rewarding this title/ position is. As women, society has led us to believe that the way we make our mark is through showing our independence in making a career for ourselves. Standing up to men and letting our "voice" be heard.
I think that I can honestly say that these types are ignorant and have no true knowledge about what a woman is, nor do they understand God's unique and specific purpose for a woman.
From the beginning God created man. He breathed life into man, forming him in His own image. Allowing him to walk with Him in the cool of the day. However, knowing how man works (obviously, He is God right?) He knew that He did not want man to be alone. So, He created a woman or companion/helper. Instead of allowing man to sit in on the creation He put him to sleep allowing no interference to ensue in the creating process. Taking precious time and precise care He created her, woman...
To me, women are very special creatures. We, have opinions. We have STRONG emotions, some more than others. We are creative, loving, nurturing, caring. We have the ability to grow another human being inside of us, something that creates a bond between mother and child that no one in the world could ever take away. (My husband has even said that I will be closer with our children just because of that fact alone). We add color to the world! :) I believe that we show the emotions of God. Now, in saying this one must understand that in all things there is a way in which these gifts/skills/talents are to be handled. Yes we have opinions, but as my mother has told me throughout my life, "Just because it's true doesn't mean you always need to say it!" Hence the reason God gave us a mind/conscience/ filter system. We DON'T need to say everything that we think! Sometimes we just need to keep our mouths shut. Which is hard but most often times necessary. We are given a task/job of woman, wife, mother. As a wife you have more than just one job of being a wife. You are the accountant, the cook, the housekeeper, the launderer, the shopper, the supporter and the helper. As wife + mother you're all those things plus medic, teacher, singer, story teller etc. These titles are not meaningless, or ho-hum. Having the right perspective and understanding who God says you are as a woman, you will quickly realize that because of your fulfillment in this role you are impacting these lives in your home.We set the tone/mood of our home. In my own home, when I'm stressed out it reflects in, not only my children but my husband as well. It shows that something is wrong with mom. The harmony is completely broken up. When I see that, I quickly check myself to make sure that my heart and attitude are right about everything. Its more than easy to get caught up in the world's way of thinking about women. Is it easier to go with the flow and do what ALL these other women are doing that are practically being shoved in your face everyday? ABSOLUTELY! Again, understanding who God says you are and then applying those principles to your life daily, you will begin to experience a harder time becoming like the world's woman and finding it a breeze to reflect God's woman. It all boils back down to perspective. Truly understanding what God says a noble woman is and then taking those principles and applying them to everyday life, you will find things beginning to make a shift. One for the better!
